Dear fellow readers,

The core aim and principle of the history division of our club is to help to get more people interested in European medieval history. The medieval ages was a really complicated and special era, not only politically, but also religiously and socially. The contemporary world is undergoing huge changes and I believe that knowing pieces of history from that ancient ages can inspire us something while making important decision. The conflict between different groups of people with different thoughts and institutes with different interest pursuits always exists and can never be forgotten or avoided. Unsolved problems like Cruciata never fades, they just exist in a different form. And when conflicts rise, there will always be a man to stand out, for example, when the church abuse their political and secular power, which annoyed tenants in the lowest class, Martin Luther stood out to fight for their right. However, I find that there are seldom people like this in the contemporary world. People become cowards and less daring overtime, the thing they are lack of is courage, the spirit of exploring and stand out to express one’s ideas.

Studying history reminds everyone to constantly view things in different ways. Sometimes we are just too blind and shallow, we are losing the ability to think thoroughly because the vibe of the modern world is quick. The lopsided view we hold is the instigator of prejudice and any kind of unkind actions. When you look deep into one specific historical incidence, you will find that it is based and caused by a long chain of causes and consequences, a long chain of reasons, with both coincide and certain taken into account. When you dive so deep into that subject, you gain a totally brand new scope.

From the perspective of materialism, studying history can improve your ability of analyzing things, and that is also one of us purposes. Apparently, multiple factors were affecting medieval history, and multiple classes were actively participating in all movements in the medieval age. As so many variables are acting an incidence, it is possible for that particular incidence to move in any direction, and then comes the charming of reasoning and debating.

In our website, we will discuss all disciplines and subjects in the medieval society.
